Circa 1810 Winery
& Tasting Room
About the Project
The cold weather was well on its way and Brook Farm Vineyards was looking to create a winter home for their tasting room in downtown Ludlow, Vermont. Their summer tasting room was outdoors on their expansive and historic property amongst the vineyard and they were in search of a new home.
Design Overview
In the new space, I wanted to create a continuation of the natural and elegant experience patrons enjoyed on the expansive property. Upon finding the perfect location on main street (and some demolition), I designed the layout to maximize space while providing a comfortable and intimate experience.

Interior Design
To bring the historical mansion and natural beauty of Vermont to the main street, I designed an interior inspired from Gustavian and natural influences. To transform the blank canvas we swapped out the flooring, ceiling tiles, and textured the walls. To reflect as much of the historic property as possible we created the bar from antique doors found on the property. Distressed french furniture creates a welcoming elegance helping to transport patrons to another point in time. Intricate mirrors from various periods of the property adorned the walls, including a grand 8×6 mirror I found tucked in the back of one of the historic barns.
Logo Design
Dubbed Circa 1810 for the year The Bate’s Mansion was built, Brook Farm Vineyard’s new tasting room needed an elegant logo that boasted the long-lasting legacy of the property. Design for social media was the utmost influence in the creation of the alternate logo for Circa 1810. A design that can work consistently across all social media platforms was a necessity where a text logo may falter. The alternate logo captured the elegance of the primary logo while it created a consistent aesthetic for our social media profiles.
Web Design
Circa 1810’s website was to remain simple and clean so that the interior could flourish and draw the users in.
Vermont’s natural Gustavian palette can be found in our stunning birch trees. These trees alongside subtle greys, white, and blacks, were the inspiration for the designs of our menus and business cards.
